Drift: An exploration of Land & Water by Larry Deacon
Meet the Artist reception:
Thursday September 11th 6-8pm Exhibition runs through to Oct 5th
The Studio Café
1089 Somerset Street West, Ottawa
Ottawa’s only Gallery specializing in Contemporary Realism
Artist Larry Deacon is inspired by travels throughout Canada and the U.S., and is in constant search of something new in the vastness of the North American landscape. Whether viewing the majestic peaks of the Rocky Mountains or the rugged coastline of the eastern seaboard, Larry ventures off the beaten path to seek out that forgotten boat, or deserted lighthouse on a foggy morning.
Larry reveals a natural artistic aptitude that expresses itself today in a contemporary realist style.
Over the last few years, Larry has devoted his full time to painting. His vivid jewel toned colour palette, bold shapes and crisp edges add liveliness to his distinct body of work.
Larry has exhibited widely including his acceptance into the renowned McMichael Gallery’s Autumn Art Sale 3 years in a row and recognized as top 3 exhibitors in 2012 . Larry was also a finalist in the nation wide “Landscape” art competition in the Canadian Brushstroke Magazine.
“Drift” is the perfect autumnal tribute to summers end and we are honoured to present Larry Deacon to our Hintonburg Gallery.
